GMTV
Europe’s biggest breakfast show GMTV wanted to find a way for viewers to get more involved – they frequently run competitions like Sofa Factor, Battle of the Brides and LK’s Top Model Competition.
A UGC platform branded ‘My GMTV’, was created to sit alongside the GMTV web site, with a clear function, to enable viewers to upload content from their desktop or mobile phone, based on a current topic or call to action from the show. Content is easy to sort, moderate, and can be broadcast immediately.
The success of the platform has been phenomenal and the appetite for submitting and voting on content is showing no signs of dipping.
Traffic on the site keeps going up and the associated boost in advertising revenue has offset the initial investment many times over.
The more GMTV trail for content on air, the more viewers respond by sending in comments, questions, and pictures.
Recent Competitions
A whopping 18,500 pictures were submitted to ‘LK’s Top Model Competition’, beating last year’s total by 30% and making this GMTV’s most successful TV/online venture yet. Entrants were voted on by viewers, over 12 weeks, and some pictures were clicked on more than 2,000 times.

Earlier this year, we experienced a high volume of weather pictures. Viewers uploaded mobile footage of the winter whiteouts in their thousands as presenters encouraged people to share their weather pictures online – over 8000 snow pictures in 10 days.
