Horrible Histories   has become a media phenomenon. The series has sold millions of books, the TV show debuted on CBBC to great audience feedback and critical acclaim - scooping several major awards including Baftas and the prestigious "Best Sketch Show" at the national Comedy Awards.

Over the last 18 months,  HuzuTech has worked with Yomego, the social media agency to adapt the brand’s appeal for a social game, using Huzutech's advanced technology platform.  With a beta launch due in July 2011. Huzutech and Yomego have worked closely with the client to define and sell to wider stakeholders, devise the gameplay, design and develop the features, recruit commercial partners and prepare for the marketing launch.

The Horrible Histories   'world' is built upon HuzuTech's social gaming platform, making it possible to bring a brand to life in a unique bespoke social and virtual world more quickly, simply and cost effectively than ever before.

When the Horrible Histories game makes the leap to Facebook, it will become truly social and accessible to a global audience. The brand extension into social gaming provides a huge opportunity for the Horrible Histories audience to actually dress as a gladiator, tour ancient Egypt, play battleships with Blackbeard, enjoy quizzes and quests, play and make new friends in a safe and educational online environment. There is, of course, even a medieval pig-flinging catapult.

This is an excellent example of a publisher who is utlising exisiting IP within the digital space, to drive new revenue streams. In addition, this virtual world ticks many boxes when facing a 8 - 10 age group, it's : safe, mulitplayer, achievement driven, has a strong narrative,community based ,and promotes creativity.
